Advance and difficulty re payments
While you wait for your first payment you can ask for an advance payment after you’ve made a claim if you do not have enough to live on.
You can even request a hardship re payment because you got a sanction if you cannot pay for rent, heating, food or hygiene needs.
You will need to repay throughout your Universal Credit re re payments - they’ll be lower and soon you repay it.
